Scanning My Roommate's Television
Digital scans.
2008-Ongoing

Last year I began scanning my roommate's television. As the scanner works its way across the television screen, it is likely that the image will change. However, since the scanner can only pick up one line of information at a time, some things can appear relatively clear. On the other hand, fast cuts back and forth between shots leave the overall picture fragmented and it becomes impossible to see what's actually going on. Titles of individual images are taken from the words being spoken on the television at the moment I began scanning. From left to right, top to bottom:
